Hey folks

I've been hoping to get in better shape for a while now and P90X looked like a good plan, so I finally ordered it today. I'm mainly looking to lose weight ( 200lbs @ 5'6" ) I've managed to lose about 30 lbs on my own already by walking and diet, but hit a plateau and just cant drop any more....which is what attracted me to P90X.

I commute a couple of miles to work on my bicycle each day, but otherwise really haven't worked out much in years. Any suggestions on what I should do to start warming myself up while I wait on my disks?

If you haven't I would suggest getting a good set of resistance bands. Also start doing push ups stretching if you haven't done either in a while. Start preparing yourself mentally for the commitment. I'm into my second week and so far so good. The soreness fades so don't give up and don't be discouraged if you can't keep up right away. As Tony says,do your best and forget the rest.

Thanks for the reply. I have dumbbells already and ordered the pullup bar. Is there still a need for bands?

I use the bands to go to failure AFTER I do maximum pullups. My arm muscles get tired before my back muscles. For example, I do 10 chair assisted pullups, and then I do an additional 20 band reps before I move to the next exercise. Good luck!
