Hey guys,

I've been looking into p90x for the last couple of days and love what I've been hearing about it. However, I have doubts about whether this program is for me. I'm 5'1 and 150(ish) pounds and really out of shape. I've noticed that alot of you were not that bad to begin with and just went into amazing shape afterwards.

Do you think this will still work for me? Or should I try to do some other sort of work out first? The reasons I really like is because I like the idea of havig a day to day schedule but I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up with it...

Thanks for the advice!

Bella,

Lucky for you, they have what's called the P90X "Fit-Test". What this does is gauges your fitness level before beginning the program. If you pass, you should be able to handle P90X.

Here is the fit test:

If your numbers aren't quite where you want them, BeachBody also produces something called "Power 90" (P90X is Power 90 extreme). Power 90 is a much more toned down program.

Best of luck!

There are some people who have started out in not that good of shape. If you can meet even most of the fit-test categories I would say go ahead and start it.

A lot of us failed the fit test tho. I couldn't so a single push-up or pull-up when I started.

I think the real gauge of whether P90X is for you is how much commitment and motivation you have. This program is 24/7 and it's not easy. You'll get out of it what you put into it.

I'm in the same boat as lindsayk...I just finished my first six days and have found that motivation is key. I couldn't do a wall squat for 90 seconds if my life depended on it, I can't do an unassisted pull up, can only bang out 5 or 6 unassisted push ups, and couldn't do 15 actually sit ups if I had to. HOWEVER, I am VERY dedicated so far to the workouts and am doing my very best with the nutrition. That for me is what counts. Tony says "Do your best and forget the rest," if you can keep that in mind then you can do it. It's tough, no, it's BRUTAL, but like everyone else I now want more and more. Hope this helps! Good luck with whatever you do!
