I am I think a week away from starting the p90x program. I am going to need some support to get through this program. I want to see what I can do if I give it my all. Last year I bought the perfect push-up ans was able to get through their program which is nothing compared to this. During this week, I need to clear space, move a Tv in front of where I can see it and have that space. Through this forum, members say to watch and be familiar with the routines. Thsi is the reason I may be more than a week away. I also need to buy the right groceries and get in the habit of tracking my food. My goal is to post frequent photos and be very transparent here. Already a couple years ago, I have adjusted my eating to have a BMI under 25. Now my goal is to gain the strength that I admire in others, but that I have not had. I grew up small and this will be a change. I will do the fit test on Tuesday. I do not know how I am going to measure my jump inside my house. Man it is just a lot to think about. Wish me luck, and if you have any other preperation tips let me know.

Let me be the first to say, welcome! You will definitely find plenty of support here on these forums both in your daily logs (if you choose to make one, which I recommend) as well as if you have any questions. Since you've completed the perfect push up schedule, (which I know nothing about, but I'm sure you can do plenty of push ups) you will probably have no trouble jumping right in and being successful.
Regarding watching the videos before you workout, I wouldn't let it slow you down. Yea it helps a little, but I would put actually doing them above watching them as far as priorities go. Or maybe that's my lack of patience talking. It's up to you.

Thanks for your support Krantz and Les!
Ok, I finished my fit test. I failed the Toe Touch test, a big fat negative ten -10. All through my youth with the presidential fitness test, stretching, that was always a weakness. It will be interesting to see if that number improves much with all the Yoga and stuff here. Also I was very weak in the Wall Squat. I thought I would just hit the stopwatch and in 4 minutes or so I would click it off, but if I was not holding the stopwatch in my hand and watching the seconds go by, I would have quit after 20 seconds, but I was able to hold on for 65 seconds. So those are we two biggest weaknesses before I start. On a plus side, I was happy with my verticle leap of 19 inches. With the minimum being 3 inches, that was a big surprise! I figure these tests are only usefull if honest, so a few pluses and a few minuses. Thanks again for the support!

Domrandall,
Don't worry...you're going to be awesome! Each of us started with a weakness in some area, and we all got better in the weak areas and better still in the strong areas. That's the beauty of this program.
The video already has a "timer" for the wall squats and Tony's advice is well-taken. If you can't hold it the full amount, then slide in and out of the squat as your body leads you. In time, you'll hold the full amount and find yourself trying to get deeper into the squat for a better burn.
If you can get 19 inches on your vertical leap, I can't wait to see what you'll be doing after a few runs through Plyo. NASA may be able to send you into space without a spacecraft!!!
Sparta bound...
Kevin
