TOPIC: I missed a workout, or did I?

I missed a workout, or did I? 3 years, 4 months ago #7486

Hi, new to the boards. I have a question. I'm in my 2nd week of the workout and on Tuesday I was supposed to do plyo, but I had a hockey game that night. Now since plyo is a cardio workout, is it OK for me to count the hockey game as a cardio night and not a missed night? I also missed last night because my wife was at the Ranger game and I was in charge of our 10 month old, who usually goes to bed at 8 but last night was up past 10, and I wasn't going to start my workout at that time. I am "doubling up" today with last night's workout and todays, which is yoga.

But can I count playing hockey on Tuesday night as a good night and not skipped?

I'd say hockey is a workout. Give yourself a little time between S&A and Yoga, because the Yoga works your arms out. When I double up, I usually do S&A and Kenpo, then do Yoga on a different day.

Definitely will take some time inbetween. Probabaly do S&A right from work then do the yoga later that evening.

Another question regarding yoga....if I don't have 90 minutes, and I usually have time in the evening, can I substitute the 10 minute trainer version?

just do as much of the video as you have time for. I am in week 3 and have yet to get through the entire workout due to fatigue and frustration

I agree with jdavison, do as much as you can. The 10min trainer is NOT a substitute, it's only 10 minutes, no matter how strenuous the moves are. That's why when I double up I don't double up with Yoga (I do Kenpo instead), plus there's an ab routine at the end of Yoga, so it's sort of a waste to do it the same day as ARX.

Nice to know I'm not alone in the frustration part for the Yoga... I wanted to quit this morning.. I just picked back up later in the session though.
