Hi,

I've just finished week 4 and have found that I have gained 5lbs. This was disappointing to say the least - especially as my goal is weight loss.

Having read the threads here in some detail, I knew that this could happen in the first few weeks - but I am in shock as to how much. My wife has commented that my biceps/triceps/shoulders are much more defined and definitely bigger but the same can not be said for my legs! I'm definitely following the programme: 12 - 15+ reps with it really burning at the end.

I start week 5 tomorrow but just wanted to know from those who did put on weight in the first few weeks, how much did you put on?

Go by body fat % not by the scale. If you are following the nutrition plan as well then you have lost body fat while building muscle. Last year when I first started working out I stayed the same weight for 2 months but lost 2 sizes in clothing.
Measure all your parts that you did prior to starting p90x. You have likely lost inches. Do your clothes fit differently?

After 90 days, I gained 5lb but lost a clothing size, and lost 4% body fat, so I put on 7.25lb of muscle.

Yes, bodyfat % is the key not overall weight.
Spend $50 and get a scale that gives you both.

Thanks for the responses guys. My shirts are not as tight around the neck so that's a plus. My belt is still on the first hole although I can fit into the second hole - won't go to work with the second hole yet, still feels too tight!!!!

I'll keep going as I am.

U.
