I've done one round of P90x and love the results on chest, arms and legs but can't seem to fix the mid section.  When I diet my stomach starts to look good but then I loose size on legs and arms. Also do u all think it is ok to switch kenpo to day 4 and yoga to day 6.

Swapping the days of the exercises shouldn't be a problem, unless you were doing the resistance training days back to back.
When you say dieting, are you cutting calories? If you aren't eating enough, your body is in starvation mode, and will use muscle to feed itself, consequently your legs and arms get smaller. You need to make sure you are getting I believe AT LEAST 1600 calories if you are male, and the P90X plan recommends at least 1800 for Level 1. What level did you test as?
Of course, if you need to lose weight in general, you could just be losing a thin layer of fat from those areas, but that doesn't sound like the problem you are having.
If you have a problem with a bloated stomach, it could be related to digestive issues, totally unrelated to exercise. I had fabulous results with a product called "Colonix", which is an at-home very easy to use system to clean your digestive system out, and can rid you of (I know it sounds gross) parasites. Believe it or not, I had some, and now for the first time in 20+ yrs my stomach is flat, and this was before I started P90X, just this last spring. Just keep cutting until you are happy with midsection even if you lose some mass elsewhere. Then start on a mass gaining program eating clean. Keep it above 1600 calories.

During the first round I went for cutting and I went from 230lbs to 207lbs in 5 wks. Scared me a bit cause it went so fast. Now I am just working out and eating regular and holding 220 - 225lbs. I know that seems heavy but I'm 77" tall. I'm currently on the 4th day of the third week, 1st phase, and think I'll cut starting wk 4. Really like doing kenpo on the 4th day, keeps me motivated and lets me do yoga on Sunday my 6th day. Then I run 5 miles on 7th day.

Checked out the Drnatura stuff looks disgusting. Not sure if I would want to do that. As far as calorie intake I've been around 1800 - 2500. Not sure about the test your talking about.

Yes it's gross. Anyway, testing for which level of the nutrition plan you should be on. It depends on your age, RMR (resting metabolic rate).

Hi,
I just joined this forum and I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I will try anywasy.
Ok I am on week 5, /phase 2, still eating at level 1, as i am trying for max. weight loss or at least looking to get thinner/smaller. I am discouraged because my clothes are not fitting any looser yet. I am eating right, working out hard, not skipping and I am just getting bummed out.
I did decide to switch to lean on phase 11, which this is my first week at but since phase 1 is supposed to be fat shredder, I am worried.
Any thoughts or encouragement? Should I try slim in 6?

First of all, welcome to the forums!
Second, most of us didn't lose much in Phase I. It was in Phases II and III where we saw all the action. So, keep doing it because my hunch is that you're right on the brink of seeing some major changes!!
Third, stay off the scales!! I know, it's hard because that's what we're used to. But you'll build muscle and that scale will rise because of the increased muscle mass. Then you can get bummed out because you're not losing weight. But trust me, the first phase sets you up for what's to come. Instead, look at your clothes and let them be your judge. My belt notches were my guide.
I'd stick with it...lean is fine...and keep bringing it. You're just about to see it happen!!

hey Kevin,
thanks for your help. My problem is not the scale, I will not weigh myself but the problem is after 5 weeks my pants are stillmtoo tight and I have not noticed me getting smaller, stronger yes but not smaller. Is this normal that after almost 6 weeks no change?

Yes, it sure is for many of us. Those folks who get ripped in 90 days were pretty close to that in most cases. There's an occasional case of a big ol' boy who did it in that time frame. My hunch is that there aren't as many as we might think.
Personally, I'm in my second round overall and almost finished with my first trip through P90X Plus. I have lost only 12 pounds and two belt notches. I haven't noticed any major changes in my body habitus in 90 days. But I feel better and I'm in better shape. I still have a fat roll and I don't want anybody to see me with my shirt off.
I'm looking at this for the long term. The fat didn't go on in 90 days and it sure isn't coming off in that period, either. Yep, I'd love to be one of the many who have reached the "ripped" category. Mine will take longer. Each day I exercise and stay faithful to my diet, I win. If I don't exercise or stay on the diet (though an occasional cheat day for sanity's sake is advised), then the fat wins. I win the war if I have more days where I win than days where the fat wins. I know I'll fight the battle for the rest of my life.
Sorry for the dinner speech, but I hoped maybe a little background might help. You will notice a change, and I'm hoping it's soon!!

I agree with Kevin. Different people will have different results. The people that you see in the pictures all ripped and buff. They all look like they had a good head start. Don't let yourself get discouraged the changes will come. It would be nice to think that everybody doing P90X will look like that in 90 days. But in reality my day 90 might look like someones day 1 and that does not bother me at all.

I don't believe I said anything about an ego. I don't think that P90X is intended to be a race to the finish. I personally do not have 50 to 60 pounds to shed. Bottom line is that you will lose the weight. How fast is based on each individual and the pace that they choose.

Moving forward....I would suggest you check your diet.
Diet is 90 percent of results.
An example of ego for me would be, I've always been one of the biggest, strongest, most ripped guys in the gym. I could bench 385, squat 515, and deadlift 465. Not too shabby........when I started P90x....i thought I would STILL be a | | | |
