Hand aches?? 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I'm in phase 2 and I've noticed, in particular on Back and Bicep day, that my hands ache when I'm lifting. Its usually only on the days where I'm having to lift actual weights a lot and so far B&B would be the one workout that would really fall into that.

I don't know if its because the garage is kinda cold when I lift (though I do use a heater) and I do use weight lifting gloves...I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that I'm just lifting heavier weights. I noticed the other girl that was lifting on the tapes and I can tell she's having the same issues. Just the way I see her stretch her fingers and hands after lifting makes me think she has the same issue.

It doesn't hurt its just a very annoying ache. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Would using those hand grip exercisers help? Or some other hand/wrist/forearm related exercise?

Thanks gang!

Actually I did shoulders/arms yesterday and my hand/wrist was hurting trying to get all my reps in. I think unless you think its serious joint issue to just take those "mid set-breaks" and push them out. But i did only notice this after I started doing heavier weights like you mention.

Does it hurt when you try to open your hand up? I have had that problem in the past. Mostly it happened when I was taking off an overtightened oil filter. Your hands may hurt but your problem may lie in your forearms. To help your forearms out take a couple of light dumbells, lay your arms across a table palms up. Hang your wrists over the edge and curl the weights up with your wrists.

Your arms maybe ready for more weights but your wrists and forearms will have the final say in what you can do.

Just a thought

Keep it going

I have the same problem, I think. Mine are like my fingers are getting locked in a closed position. I think its from gripping too tight, so I'm trying to relax them a little more to see if that helps.

By no means am I a trainer. I havnt even started the program yet, still waiting on it to show up at the house. But just from my experiences while in the Marines and when I use to lift in highschool. You might be gripping it to tight. If you are putting a death grip on the weights while exercising it will cause your hands to cramp and hurt real bad. Or like you said it will just be really annoying. Also the lifting in the garage when its cold could be causing it to. You said you use a heater, does it heat up the bar as well?? Just come comments. Hopefully this helps.
