I have some lower back pain when doing ARX. Will a Yoga Mat help that as well?

I doubt it. Lower back pain during ab ripper is generaly a sign of weak lower back muscles. Place your hands underneath your butt during the routines to eleviate some of the work from your lower back. Try to slowly introduce your hands back to original position until the lower back gets stronger.

Well, unless the "lower back pain" is referring to your tailbone digging into a hard surface such as a hardwood floor, then yes, a yoga mat would help. My wife has that issue. so she really has to pad it up. folds the mat over, and sometimes even sandwiches a light blanket in between.

He didn't seem to indicate that his "butt bone" was digging in to the floor. If that is the issue, then yes by all means acquire something to place underneath. I have interlocking mats. I can't image doing Dreya Rolls on a hardwood floor. That would suck.

If you feel it's muscle related, try my advice from above.

Thanks guys,

It is my lower back muscles. I typically do stick my hands underneath I just sort of felt like I was cheating some. I've been able to gradually move them out, some.

During my first round my lower back gave me a fair amount of pain during ABX but only during in and outs and bicycles. It was fine the rest of the workout. With time the pain has gone away. I still can't imagine doing ABX without a mat, I use a mat on top of a thick rug.
