TOPIC: Day 3 of P90X
Day 3 of P90X 2 years, 7 months ago #25409

I started P90X 09-21-09 and all I can say is, I did not realize that it would be this intense! I got through day 1 and I was a little upset that I had to stop and take many breaks! I barely made it through ARX

There is no need to start over. Mastering ARX takes time! I just started p90x all over again. I had completed 100 plus days of it earlier this year and I still have problems with ARX. Keep pushing play...it gets easier, trust me!

Like navymanwill said. Just do what you can and then try to do a little more each time. ABX is not easy. I am on week six and still can't do all the reps but it gets a little easier each time.

ARX is tough, and I too, was disappointed at first. You can either do as many as you can then take a break or pause to fit in 25 reps on each. Now on my third week, I am getting all reps on most of the exercises and pausing fewer times between exercises each time. Bicycles are still tough and I'm up to 12 on the scissors before I have to collapse.

Mommy, dont beat yourself up!! no one EVER starts out and is proud of the way they performed on day 1! thats why its day 1! its hard. thats the point of this whole thing. just, "do your best and forget the rest!" you didnt do anything wrong. the only thing you could do wrong is to quit. so keep plugging away!
as for ARX, try this. try not to pause. but instead, start with 12-15 reps of each exercise. this will give you mini-breaks in between each move (hence not needing to pause). and on each subsequent ARX, add 1 rep to each move. you'll have about 30 times to improve up to the 25 rep/move! GOOD LUCK! |

I concur 100% with what cocoimloco said -- if you're having trouble getting to 25 reps per exercise, shoot for a lower number (but still one that will give you a burn). I started with 10 reps per move at first, and by the middle of Phase 2 I was getting through all 25 reps in ARX with no breaks. Now that I'm finishing Phase 2, I'm starting to push myself to go for even more than the 50 reps of Mason twists that Tony does (though I don't always succeed!).
