The Smoothie Diet for Weight Loss

smoothiesWhen it comes to losing weight , the number one concern is hunger. Being hungry all of the time is something we all can deal with for a short period of time, but after a few days of dieting , the hunger takes over and we fall off the weight loss wagon only to regain the water weight we have lost and a few extra pounds to boot. The Smoothie Diet offers a hunger-reducing plan that ensures you never feel those extreme hunger pangs and never fall off the weight loss wagon.  This is part of an on going special review of the smoothie diet.

At the heart of the Smoothie Diet is the smoothie. A diet breakfast smoothie starts off the day and is filled with protein and fiber, the perfect one, two combination to battle hunger. Calorie controlled and filled with a healthy supply of vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients , the smoothie not only tastes good, but feels good on the body as well.

After breakfast, the free Smoothie Diet plan allows for lunch smoothies and dinner smoothies to round out your nutritional day . Smoothie Diet recipes are available both online and off line and offer a huge range of tastes and flavors to keep you interested every day of the Smoothie Diets plan time.

How Does the Smoothie Diet Work?

Breakfast the most important part of the day. It is the time when the metabolism kicks starts for the days calorie burn. The trouble is most people leave their breakfast meal filled with quick burning carbohydrates, which leads to snacking only a few hours later and a huge onslaught of unneeded calories. The diet breakfast smoothie is created from whole fruits and yogurts and soy or whey proteins that help to start off the day with a increase in calorie burning power.

The method of combining just the right fats, proteins and natural fibers helps the dieter fights the urge to eat later in the morning. The stomach feels full straight through lunchtime, eliminating the extra calories consumed during those mid morning snacks.

At the heart of fighting the hunger is the diet smoothie recipe. The slow metabolizing carbohydrates offer a blood sugar balance that keeps hunger away. There are no quick burns and crashes like those experienced with the more traditional high sugar, high simple carbohydrate breakfast choices. When glucose or blood sugar levels are balanced, hunger is kept at bay allowing for quicker weight loss results.

The Smoothie Diet and Other Diet Plans

The Smoothie Diet can be incorporated into many of the most popular diet plans being tried today. The You on a Diet smoothie is a very popular choice as is the Smoothie King diet. The easier a diet plan is to follow, the more apt the dieter is to stay on the plan. The key is to find a power diet smoothie that tastes great and keeps the dieter felling fuller, longer.

Diet smoothie drinks are just the first stage of the Smoothie Diet. As the body becomes more accustomed to the fiber and healthy nutrient levels, there will be natural diet changes that take place. The dieter will like the feeling given by these healthy green Smoothie Diet drinks and will choose to add more and more of these same types of foods to other meals throughout the day.

Smoothie Diet Daily Menu Plan

When you choose the Smoothie Diet, you will be choosing a huge range of healthy foods. A sample menu may look like this.

* Breakfast

Jump-start your metabolism with a protein rich fruit and yogurt shake.

(Sample Recipe)

1 Frozen Banana
8 ounces of plain yogurt
1 TBSP Protein Powder
6 Ice Cubes
1 1/3 cups water
Handful of Frozen Strawberries

Place the ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth. Enjoy!

* Mid-Morning

One serving of fruit or homemade fruit juice.

(Sample Homemade Fruit Juice recipe)

8 ounces diet ginger ale
1 cup whole fruit juice

* Lunch

Another fruit Smoothie Diet drink.

* Mid-Afternoon

One serving of fruit or fruit juice.

* Dinner

A whole food dinner of your choice. The caloric intake will depend upon your dietary needs, but should aim to stay within the 500 to 600 calorie range. The dinner meal should provide a healthy source of lean protein and healthy fats. The simple carbohydrates should be kept to a minimum so if a starch is needed, aim for a sweet potato versus a white potato.

The Smoothie Diet is a whole food diet, which means that the shakes can be consumed at any meal. Replacing the afternoon or evening meal with a Smoothie Diet recipe can mean added weight loss and added reduced hunger. The total caloric intake of the Smoothie Diet drinks can be adjusted as per the recommended daily calorie intakes for weight loss that is appropriate for each dieter.

The protein Smoothie Diet is quite similar to the Slim Fast diet, but without all the added sugars. Many Slim Fast shakes are laden with quick burning sugars and thus empty calories. They are also very expensive to continue buying week after week. The Smoothie Diet recipes are easy to make and total customizable. You can choose from many different fruits, yogurts and protein flavors and cut the simple sugar levels to near zero, while keeping the cost of the diet low. The whole fruit juice can be prepared early in the week and kept ready to make in the fridge for the entire week making the Smoothie Diet easy and quick each and every day.

All in all, the Smoothie Diet is a diet that is sure to keep the hunger quenched and the weight falling off . The longer the Smoothie Diet is utilized as a part of your everyday eating plans, the more weight you will lose, especially if combined with a good exercise plan. There is nothing like starting off the day with a diet smoothie drink to boost that metabolism, provide healthy, low sugar nutrition and prevent those mid morning hunger pangs. Losing weight has never been so easy as when using the simple Smoothie Diet drinks for your morning meal and more.

 1. I am looking to loose weight and I thought I would give the smoothie diet a try. If there are some others who have tried and succeeded and do not mind shooting me an email to give me some pointers. Please feel free to do so
 2. I eat 2 smoothies throughout the day and have a "good" meal about 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I have been on it for 11 days now and have lost 15 lbs. I am 65 years old and I am not able to exercise. I love this "diet".
 3. My friend told me to help with the flavor to add peanut butter and or chocolate syrup. Is the smoothie diet really that good if you add other ingredients?
 4. WEIGHT LOSS OF 50 LBS
 5. Just want to loose 15 ponds, just had brainsergery.Android have been in a hiospital bed so trying to get rid of this bed fat........can't exercise yet.soon ill strt walking.I'm just off balance.thanks for all the comments on the smoothies.will see how it goes
 6. Everyone who has some knowledge of food knows that fruits are high in sugar. That being said, when you consume smoothies all day, you have a HUGE crash. Some do not feel it as hard, but another adverse effect is that the smoothie diet deprives you of food! Your body craves food, and these smoothies can not deliver. Besides the fact that there boring to drink all day, fruit are high in carbs and sugar, that is why you must eat them sparingly. Sure there natural sugar, but sugar nonetheless. I do however, recommend to throw a smoothie in your lifestyle, more preferably before a workout.
 7. The problems with conventional diets like these ones is that they are ""DIETS". The KEY to losing weight is..(you will thank me late) 1.Eat 5-6 times a day 2.Meals must contain Protien,Complex Carb, and Fibrous Carb 3. Ex. Oatmeal, Banana, Protein Shake. Ex. Chicken breast, mixed greens, and rice(or potato..etc) 4. At least 2-3 times a week exercise, if you do it more often you will see greater results. 5. stay motivated 6. reward yourself, if you eat 5 times a day for a week, you can cheat 4 out of the 35 times. 7. Email me @ Fraijo13@gmail.com if you need FREE advice or want to see my credentials or resume. Best Regards.
 8. A terrible idea. Old fashioned exercise is the only way to lose weight. It will take longer, but 3-4 times a week of some form of aerobic exercise and weight training will cause healthy weight loss over time. Muscle is an active tissue which is linked to metabolism. Exercise muscle and you unleash potential power which in turn will burn fat. If you lose 40-60 pounds and don't exercise you're wide open to regain the weight plus more. All those new fangled exercise programs are also a waste of money. A good stationary bike followed by dumbbell routines and swimming will do the trick-over time. It took you time to gain the weight it will take time to lose it-safely.
 9. Whats the average weekly weight loss when on a smoothie diet?

 14. 1 banana 1/2 apple whole cup frozen berries 1/4 to 1/2 cup bran flakes (or whole bran) -this is important as it fills you for hrs. one scoop protein powder 1/2 cup to 1 cup yogurt cup of favourite fruit juice handful of carrots one kiwi WHOLE
 15. LOOKING FOR THE ADD ON T.V.OR THE 2 WEEK TRY AND MIXER
 16. well, I am tired of not enjoying life to the fullest. I am going to try the Smoothie Diet to see if it really works. I will update in two weeks.
 17. I cannot eat breakfast in the mornings. I have to skip it until a certain time like around 3 or 4 because I can't keep it down for some reason. I'll try the smoothie diet so i can eat food in the morning XD Plus get off a little bit of weight. Here's my recipe. Random smoothie concoction: -3/4 cup green tea. (Make sure you put it in the fridge before making the smoothie) -Peaches (I don't measure) -Tofu -protein powder -tsp. honey to sweeten Always tastes good to me (:
 18. smoothies are filling.. there are whole foods in there, just not in whole form!
 19. What about adding Spinach to the smoothies.. because it really doesn't have a taste it might be good to get that added nutrition and can pick it up for pretty cheap Might be thinking eww why would you do that but trust me all the fruit and whatnot overpowers it and you don't even know its in there
 20. Pina Colada Smoothie 6 frozen pineapple chunks 1 pina colada yougurt 1/4 bottle sobe pina colada beverage. Blend.
 21. I used to work in a juice bar and honestly... that first sample recipe the diet offers up sounds pretty revolting and tasteless. I use: 1 small/ medium banana 6 medium strawberries 2 tablespoons of low fat plain or greek style yoghurt 400ml good quality orange juice I sometimes add a shot of aloe vera juice or protein powder and it tastes SO much better. Apple, strawberry and kiwi is also good.
 22. On which factor exactly you concentrate to loser weight. Most of us go through only diet and exercise, it is only sufficient to get results? Thanks Stela
 23. around how much weight do u lose weekly.

 25. I am looking for the ad on SMOOTHY that was advertised on WRKO (in Boston) as the ad indicated free 14 day supply of Smoothy including shipping and handeling
 26. So try this smoothie, I want to know how it works for you. All the ingredients promote weight loss and less bloating. It may sound weird but it's worth trying 5 oz Cho milk 1/4 of a large avocado 3 oz non fat yogert 1/2 cup blueberries 2oz bulgur (it's a wheat grain, lots of fiber) 2 oz green tea I made this recipe myself and i want to know if your results are as good as mine :-)
 27. I have tried liquid diets before but they leave me feeling sooo hungry all the time! Might have to give smoothies ago and see if I can hold out.
 28. I just started this diet, as I need to lose about 100 pounds total to be exactly where I want to be. I have noticed that I too, leading a busy lifestyle, am not hungry on this diet. I typically change the time of day that I eat the regular meal every day to keep it interesting. One style I tried is this: 1 large can pineapple, no sugar added with juice, 1 cup Vanilla Almond milk, 2 scoops Fat Free Vanilla Ice cream, 1 cup fat free yogurt, 6 ice cubes. I blend it all together, and it usually makes 2 full smoothies, so I have a day's worth of meals. If anyone else has any good recipes,
 29. My daughter and I have been doing the smoothies for a couple of months now for breakfast and lunch. The first month I lost 10 pounds and now haven't lost anything for 3 weeks. I'm getting upset about it which is bad cause it will take me back to eating too much again. I walk for a half hour every day so getting some exercise also. Not sure why I have come to a stop as has my daughter.
 30. Wal mart sells Yoplait Smoothie if you don't have time to make your own . There over at the frozen section I drink my blueberry smoothie as a meal replacement for breakfast , lunch , dinner ..I do my bike exercise as well to help bring down my weight . I use frozen blueberry's one cup , plain yogurt 1/1 cup and skim milk 1 cup and 3 tbs of sugar for the sweet taste . a few ice cubs and blend me masterpiece ! I have lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks so far and I don't feel like I am starving because I sip my drinks and it keeps me full .

 35. I just purchased a VitaMix Blender and I have had it for a week now and I am using it daily-I LOVE IT! The reviews were straight on- It really is a great machine and clean up is a snap. For breakfast I make an Orange and Carrot Smoothie that is so filling and refreshing- The recipe I follow is 1/2 cup of Cranberry Juice, 1/2 Bananna, 1 Carrot Stick, 1 celery Stick and 1 cup of ice cubes- It is delicious! I too, hope to loose weight by juicing raw foods in smoothie form.
 36. I've been having smoothies for breakfast for the last week. My boyfriend gave me a blender last year and I never really got around to using it. First thing I made was a green tea frappacino - for fun (10 ice cubes, 2 tbls green tea milk tea powder, 1/3 a cup of skim milk)... then thought why not stick all the fruit I have in there tomorrow morning for breakfast - I haven't stopped since then, I never used to eat breakfast, and if i did it was something bad! So far made: Peach/Berry Smoothie 2 peaches 6 strawberries 2 tbls Greek Yoghurt 1 tsp honey 6 ice cubes 5 fruits smoothie - non dairy 1 peach 4 strawberries 6-10 raspberries 1 banana 1 kiwi fruit 6 ice cubes I don't use protein powder or anything like that, but i might look into it! Thanks for the post.
