Introduction Fluid Recovery Drinks have been recognized in the past for achieving a standard of excellence and the company is certainly not hesitant in bragging about those particular accolades. The most recent of these awards came at the TriFest 2008 celebration where the flagship Fluid Recovery Drink received the award for Best Nutrition Product of the Year. Awards are one thing, but results are another. Our review list some of the major good points and bad points regarding the Fluid Recovery Drink. See Also our other Recovery Drinks .
Advantages of the Fluid Recovery DrinkThe Fluid Recovery Drink has the ability to help your muscles recover from tiredness and soreness quicker, but this is not a particularly unique property as most recovery drinks can do this. However, the Fluid Recovery Drink can also help a compromised immune system get back up to speed quicker in preparation for some sort of physical exertion. This means that if you have a cold or some other illness that might affect your immune system and in doing so affect your physical endurance, you can utilize the Fluid Recovery Drink as a temporary stopgap measure should you really need to get over those symptoms for a few hours. This can be huge if you come down with the flu just before a particularly important game, race, or other athletic event.
Fluid Recovery Drink products contain two major products insofar as energy injection is concerned. The first is whey protein , which is a product that many people will already know because of its prowess in helping muscles build up if it is taken as a supplement in addition to working out. The second is glutamine, which is an excellent substance to take when one needs a little kick of energy, even without the workout having been done that day. When put together, these two products result not only in the advantages mentioned in the previous paragraph, but also in an overall energy boost that is so intense that few other energy drink products available today can match it.
Any Reason to not take Fluid Recovery Drink? The Fluid Recovery Drink is not a recovery drink that one can associate with the ability to replenish the body's electrolytes . For this reason, there might be problems with utilizing this drink over the long term after a daily workout session. If you want a recovery drink because you are interested in doing two back-to-back workouts a day and would like some help in reducing recovery time between the two workouts, the Fluid Recovery Drink might not be the one for you. There is a trade-off between the extra muscle assistance and the lack of electrolytic replenishment when it comes to this particular recovery drink.
Final Thoughts on the Fluid Recovery DrinkAs you can see from the above review, the Fluid Recovery Drink is indeed able to live up to the hype the creators have made for it. That having been said, it is also a situational drink. It is great for quick recovery or temporary restoration of endurance, but there are probably better products out there for long term effectiveness.

, on 14-05-2009 22:26 I've used this product for training many times, and I think its number one benefit is helping me recovery between training sessions, which you list above and its downside. I've been an athlete for a long time, and compared to a lot of stuff out there, Fluid is the best post workout recovery drink I've ever used. It also tastes good. Hope this helps readers out there looking for a decent product. |

, on 17-02-2009 13:49 Hello! This is a decent review, but please keep in mind that nutrition and hydration are very different principles. They are indeed synergistic, but the idea of an effective recovery drink is to get blood sugar available to damaged muscle cells as soon as possible to help rebuild muscle and liver glycogen. Fluid does have adequate amount of Sodium and Potassium to get that job done, and make sure that digestion happens quickly and efficiently. Hydration is important, and so is electrolyte replacement, however they should not be confused with the importance of recovery nutrition. Cheers! John Allan, MS,RD,USAT | |
