This week did not go well and I was quite suprised. I gained 3 pounds, back to 217. I had a really good week of diet and exercise so it came as a bit of a shock and just have to keep plugging ahead. It is a bit perplexing when this happens, but that is why I am keeping this personal weight loss blog. So others can see losing weight fast is not easy or even possible for many people, certainly not for me! If you started with this blog entry you may want to go to my index and see my other weight loss blog entries. As usual I will discuss what my diet and exercise was like.
Exercises This WeekI did a tremendous amount of exercise this week which is why I am surprised on the weight gain, but who knows? Maybe I am adding some muscle mass? I am not quite sure. I feel skinnier which is the odd part. So here is my exercise for the week: - Sunday - Thirty minutes of cardio on the incumbent bike, perfect pushup bar push ups with repititions of 13,11,9, and 7.
- Tuesday - Two hours in the garden digging up grass around the flower bed, mulching, hauling away dirt/rocks, and fertiling yard. Great sweat.
- Wednesday - One hour of planting flowers, not heavy cardio but my heart rate was definitely up.
- Thursday - Two hours of Canadian doubles tennis (this is where you play doubles with three people).
- Saturday - Two hours of singles tennis. This was the best cardio workout of the week.
Total workout time eight hours. See why I was surprised on the weight gain? I was very active this week. Maybe it was what I ate? Lets see. Diet This WeekI was very strict and ate my normal meals up until Friday where I had chips & queso with my lunch. On Saturday the family went to Red Robin and I had a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a beer. On Sunday (the 1st day of next week, not the previous Sunday) I had 4 slices of pizza, a hershey candy bar and a piece of cake. If counting my "cheat day" I had 2.5 meals spread over 3 days instead of an entire cheat day where I can eat what I want. Overboard? Perhaps but considering the Sunday was after my weigh in, I don't think so. Looking Forward to Next Week I was very tempted to start Atkins this week but I am going to hang through one more week and you may ask why? Mainly because I feel skinnier. My waiste line seems smaller and I just feel good. I think at some point losing weight will be hard for my 6'3" frame. I have fairly wide shoulders as well so not sure how easy it will be to lose more but I sure would like to lose another 15-25 pounds. Time will tell!
