Today is day 21 and are you ready for this? I lose a whole 1/2 pound. I was expecting this slowdown but was hoping I would lose a tiny bit more. I wanted to lose 1-2 pounds per week. I am now at 222 lbs. and started day one at 230 lbs. I guess I really have no one but myself to blame. Friday night the family went out and I had crab legs which is fine but I combined it with two 22 oz. Miller Lite beers and then when I got home I had another 12 oz. lite. On top of that last night, Saturday, I had cheese fries and italian sausage sub. Haha! I felt so damn guilty too. Today is Easter Sunday and was to be my "cheat" day. I will eat well and if my mom brings a Pecan Pie I will allow myself one slice otherwise its back to a strict diet. I am still completely motivated and in fact I think losing only half a pound has motivated me to try even harder.
Exercise Days 15 through 21Before I talk about what I did I do run this site and the folks over in the p90x forum area are pumping me up. I am almost to the point I want to do their workouts! P90x looks extremely hard but it also seems to be gratifying if you have the fortitude to stick with it. Now on to what I did! I was able to get three very good workouts again on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. If you read my introduction paragraph you will know why I worked out Saturday instead of Friday. Each workout had me doing my usual 10 minutes of streching/warmup then 30 minutes on the recumbent bike (now at resistance 3, todays workout will be 4), and the best part pushup bars chest exercises are pumping up my chest workouts! I am now up to reps of 10,8,6,4 and today I plan on doing 11,8,7,5. I am not doing their 3 pyramid sets. I think the one pyramid set enough but I must admit if I did 3 it would really define the upper body better so maybe I will start that next week. I just need to build up a little more endurance because after one pyramid set I definitely have muscle fatigue issues. Diet - Days 22 through 28Boy oh boy I fell off a little, but not bad, as I mentioned in my first paragraph. Going out to dinner after a long week I love some cold beer. I don't know why last night I had the fries and Sausage sammich! It wasn't even that good! haha. I am glad the Body For Life program allows for a cheat day and I sure used it and a bit much. Other then those 2 events at my Friday dinner (56 total ounces of miller lite beer) and the Saturday dinner fiasco which I just realized I had 4 chocolate chip cookies for dessert as well I did really well!! Haha! It is Easter Sunday and I will try to be a good boy and keep the intake to a minimum. A few things I have noticed and I need to be constantly aware of, so maybe this will help others are: - I have to constantly remind myself to drink water - like its 8:40am now and I have only had 2.5 cups of coffee, no water yet! Stupid me! I have the same problem during the work week.
- I also have a difficult time remembering my after lunch snack which I tend to have an apple and low fat string cheese. The times I forget I find some seriously awful food cravings come near dinner time which may be causing me to eat too much "good" food at dinner too. Don't forget to eat the small meals folks! It helps on the cravings!
Looking Forward Days 22 through 28I see another good week coming. I plan on heading down to the basement to workout in about 1.5 hours. I am going to go drink 16 oz of water now and have a nutrition shake (8 oz) which will get me 22 oz of water in me. I don't have eating issues at work, its just at home at night and I have made it through almost every day with little issues. I look forward to losing more weight.
