Can a greatly out of shape person do thi

I'm looking to buy this program and would like to know from people if this is something a really out of shape guy can do. 
 
I'm 6 foot 270 pounds and all of it is in my gut. My legs and arms aren't really flabby. I'm needing to lose about 70 pounds over the next year. 
 
Would you guys reccommend this program for me or should I start on something else first and work my way into this?
