Supreme 90 Day vs P90X

This Supreme 90 Day Workout vs. P90X comparison is designed to help you make an informed decision between the two.  Both are considered to be a well designed home workout program based on the technique of muscle confusion.

What is Muscle Confusion?

Muscle confusion is a training principle that creates variety in your workout.  It is used to prevent plateaus, which helps to keep your muscles growing.  When you consistently do the same routine each and every day, your muscles become accustomed to these movements.  In order for your muscles to grow, you need to perform different exercises and perform a variety of sets and reps.  The best way to do this is to cycle your workouts so that your muscles do not get used to the exercises, which is what both the Supreme 90 Day Workout and P90X provide.

Supreme 90 Day Workout

The Supreme 90 Day Workout is a home DVD workout program that claims it will transform your body.  It consists of ten workout DVDs that use strength training, cardio interval training, core exercises, plyometrics, and stability ball exercises to target all areas of your body.

It uses the muscle confusion technique to decrease the amount of time it takes to see results.  It has clinically proven results in an independent study where 88% of the participants lost excess body fat.  It is great for losing weight, gaining muscle, and sculpting your body.

The program comes with a nutrition book that includes foods right from your local grocery store.  The book, “Supreme Nutrition” was written by Tosca Reno, a New York Times best-selling author.  This author focuses on eating more to boost your metabolism so your body can burn fat.

P90X

P90X is a home DVD workout program designed to transform your body.  It consists of 12 DVDs that utilize the technique of muscle confusion for quicker results.  The different exercise styles are what make P90X so effective.  The program includes resistance training, body-weight training, plyometrics, ab work, cardio, martial arts, stretching, and yoga.

The program comes with a 3 phase nutritional plan.  The nutrition plan is divided into three phases:

  • Fat Shredder – This phase consists of higher protein intake to help you shed fat quickly while strengthening your muscles.
  • Energy Booster – This phase consists of a balanced combination of carbohydrates and protein, with lower amounts of fat providing you with increased energy.
  • Endurance Maximizer – This phase consists of complex carbohydrates and lean proteins to fuel your workouts and maximize endurance.

This 3 phase plan provides you with just the right amount of calories and nutrients so you are able to burn stored fat while building lean muscles.  P90X recognizes the concept that diet and exercise work together to improve fitness and your physical performance.

  1. Edna says P90X Plyometrics eats Tabata Inferno for lunch. I say she has not actually tried Tabata Inferno. I do both of these routines and there is no doubt Tabata Inferno is the tougher routine. The two workouts are quite different. Tabata Inferno is more of cardio/core workout. Plyometics is a cardio/legs workout. Regardless, I am gassed by Tabata. Not so any longer by P90X Plyometrics.
  2. Hey Joe, if by easier you mean better than I agree with you. But I have done both ab videos and the Supreme 90 is a cake walk next to Ab Ripper X. 339 crunch moves in 16 mintues. Enough said.
  3. I have both. I bought P90X first. I figured I'd try Supreme 90 as it was only 20 bucks. Supreme 90 is a far better value. The Supreme Tabata workout is better than the P90 kenpo. Supreme Ab is better. P90X is good, but Supreme is a way better deal with a few better workouts.
  4. Have both. Supreme 90 is a good beginner's program. Probably best to start there and then move to P90X. The X is much harder. Supreme 90 is like Power 90 with muscle confusion. Heard the posts about Tabato Inferno. Plyo X would eat Tabato Inferno's children. After doing both I would do Tabato on a recovery day. Probably replace Kenpo X.
  5. I bought the Supreme 90 Day, just couldn't afford the P90X and I am glad I didn't buy it. Supreme 90 Day for $19.99 was a blessing. I am 44 and I am getting into the best shape of my life and it feels GREAT!!!! Man!!! I just hate that I wasted so much money and time with 24 Hour "rip off"....oops,I mean 24 Hour Fitness. Where was Supreme 90 Day when I was in high school and college???LOL
  6. Supreme 90 is just a rip off of P90x .. P-90x is a way better choice! All these phony "90 day dvds " are coming out now with the muscle confusion Billy Blanks has one Julian Micheal's (not that this has anything to do with it but she is a big b***h) everyone is hopping on the wagon trying to be like p90x but let me tell ya Supreme 90 you dog you , you take the cake..Tom Holland you pretty much ripped off Tony Horton I mean if the initials aren't bad enough !! You try to speak like him act like him.. but your Dvd's suck. Well have a good day everyone.
  7. Supreme 90 is an exceptional program and is the best workout video that I have purchased in years. After 3 weeks on the program I have lost a total of 10 lbs. This is highly unusual since in the past working out with fitness trainers and having a hired a nutrionist my weight loss average has only been 1-2 lbs per month. Thanks for creating an affordable and effective workout program.
  8. I was in my grocery store and say the Supreme 90 workout DVD's in the clearance section for about $20. Thought about it but passed on it. Came back about a week or so later and it was down to $5, bought it and just started the program last monday, so I am on day 10. Wow amazing workouts. I still hurt every day. Can't wait to see how I look in a couple months!!!!
  9. I have Supreme 90. I'm on my 49th Day. God! Sometimes I wonder, do you really have to work this hard to get in shape. I only need to lose 7 more pounds. I've lost 10 already..It is really kicking my buns...but I love the challenge, the results speak for themselves, that's what keeps me going. And I agree with Steve Paradis below, I dread the Tabata Inferno DVD days..LOL
  10. I have supreme 90 and it is great I have not had the $$ to get P90X but it looks like a good program I have a friend that got really fit he uses both of them to get more variation on workouts. (stop from getting to bored/used to the workouts.
  11. Found the Supreme 90 day dvd set at Ollie's for, believe or not,9.99. I'm now into days 30-60 phase of the program. It's been real, real, challenging. The Tabata Inferno dvd is by far the toughest of them all. But the different workouts do keep you on your toes and Tom Holland was a good choice for a host. He really keeps you motivated. I may try P90x sometime in the future when I got that kind of money to spend, but for the price, Supreme 90 day suit my needs for now.
  12. I have both programs and I was really impressed by the price even though they both seem to be offering the same thing. I was able to purchase mine from Walmart. So, I saved on the shipping. I only paid 19.99 + tax for mine. My what a bargain.
  13. The ultimate 90-day program is the Sit-at-Home fitness routine. This program works for any one at any age; not just those physically fit to begin with. All on one DVD. In addition to a simple and effective program, the Steel-Bow can be used for future cross training exercises as explained on the DVD. Compare them all but "muscle confusion" is just a new term for cross training.
  14. I ordered Supreme 90 online and was subsequently billed for two sets of DVD’s. When I called customer service, they informed me that my order was already shipped and they could do nothing about it. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, the technician gave me the old “your phone is starting to break up and I cannot hear you” routine. The tech then said he could no longer hear me and hung up. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT ONLINE.
  15. Theey are both Kick a** programs, they are meant to work harder but in less time. The workouts are very challenging and effective. The diet plans are also good. Regardless of which one you choose, there will be a huge difference. I have Supreme 90 due to the price. My co-worker has P90X and he enjoys it, again very similar.
  16. Supreme 90 is the King between the two. I have used both and for the price you can't beat Supreme. Plus Tom is not irritating like Tony Horton!
