Slim in 6 - Slim Down and Tone Body

You’ve decided it’s time to slim down and tone your body. Maybe you’ve decided to get into those jeans that haven’t fit for the last five years, or you just want to look good in a bikini. Whatever the reason, thousands of people per year decide that this is the year that they are finally going to lose weight and look in the mirror and see a slimmer, trimmer, healthier person staring back at them than the one they see now.

The biggest hassle with diets and exercise is that people want to see results immediately. When they don’t see results almost immediately, they tend to get discouraged, and that’s when they start cheating on their diets, and skimping on their exercise plans. (see also Hip Hop Abs Reviews , P90X Reviews , P90X Nutrition Plan, 10 Minute Trainer )

Visit our Weight Loss Forum and our Slim in 6 Forum Area. Related also Zumba.

In an effort to speed up their weight loss, they then try different diet plans , gimmicks and supplements. The problem with this is they don’t do the necessary research before buying, because they believe the sales pitches they see on television. As a result, they could spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for supplements and other diet paraphernalia that don’t really work!

All About Slim in 6

In this article we will look at a well-known diet and exercise plan called, Slim 6. Slim 6 is designed to incorporate both weight training and aerobic exercise to boost your metabolism, so you can slim down effectively. Along with the weight training and aerobic plan, it also has a diet plan, which is both balanced and low in fat. By combining these three things, you have a potent fat fighting recipe.

Slim 6 comes with three exercise DVD’s. It starts with the Start It Up video, which is 25 minutes long, then goes to the Ramp It Up video, which is 48 minutes in length, and finally finishes up with the Burn It Up video, which is 59 minutes long.

You are supposed to do each video six times per week, which allows for one day of rest, for two weeks, before moving on to the next video in the series. Each video gets progressively harder, which is a good thing, because it doesn’t let your body become used to the routine. By challenging your body, you’re going to see greater results, faster than you would if you allowed your body to just keep doing the same old, unchallenging thing day after day for six weeks. By mixing the routine up every two weeks, you also alleviate some of the boredom that comes with repetition. In effect, it’s like starting a new exercise routine every two weeks.

Will Slim in 6  get you a toned body?

The best thing about Slim 6 is that it doesn’t leave any part of losing weight to mere chance. This exercise program targets all the fundamental basics of how to lose weight, including diet, stretching, aerobic exercise and weight training. The exercise routines also target all of the major muscle groups, which is a great thing if you want to slim down and tone up your muscles.

Debbie Siebers, who is the host on the Slim 6 videos, is an excellent host. However, after listening to her for six days a week, you’ll probably have the exercise techniques down pat and won’t really need to listen to her anymore. At this point feel free to crank up some of your own tunes to work away to.

The entire package can be paid in three installments of $19.95, which isn’t a bad price for three-exercise videos, plus the diet guide. It’s far more reasonable than most gym memberships, and far better than a lot of the gimmicky weight loss programs found on the market.

The Slim 6 exercise and regiment program, while good, does have some drawbacks. For instance, some people have found that the program is too difficult, and therefore not the right fit for them. If someone finds that they can’t handle the exercise program, chances are they aren’t going to be able to stick to it. In that case, they may have wasted their money. Some people have found that the exercise videos are hard on their knees, because of the jumping and stretching it requires.

If you’re in moderately good health already, but just want to slim down, and tone up your muscles, then this is probably a great program for you. It will challenge you, and promote weight loss just like their ads claim. But if you’re obese, or have some health issues, you may want to start out with an exercise program that is a little easier. If you go that route, you could always pick up on the Slim 6 program once you’ve slimmed down a bit and your body is better able to handle the stress.

However, the Slim 6 developers never say that the program is super easy. Unlike some of the diet plans on the market, who claim that you can continue to eat fatty, high calorie foods, pop a pill and still lose weight, the Slim 6 fitness and diet regiment is based on hard work and a good diet, which are the hallmarks of real weight loss. The old adage is true. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Diet pills rarely work, especially if they aren’t coupled with exercise and a good diet.

Conclusion

It takes six weeks to complete the entire Slim 6 program, and if you stick to the diet plan and exercise using the videos six days a week, you can expect to lose weight. Even if the exercise regiment is a little too hard, and you feel you need an extra day of rest, you could do that and still lose weight. Although, you won’t lose as much as you would have if you had worked out for the entire six days, like the videos tell you to.

All in all, the Slim in 6-diet plan is better than most, and for most people, is well worth the money. If it gets you off the couch, working out and eating better, then its bound to work, and you’ll soon find you’re a slimmer, healthier you as a result.

1. Needing support!

I'm 21, 5'4'' and 210 pounds. I'm actually in good shape for my size, I play sports and work out when I can. Most people are baffled when I tell them my weight. I'm tired of being this big at such a young age and my mom has Si6 so I'm starting it in the morning. Any support will be really great, as I've noticed that success rests upon support for these kinds of things. My goal is to go from a 16 (yes, I'm a 16, which is why people get confused when I say over 200 lbs) to a 12 by the end of the 6 weeks. Wish me luck!

I'm 19 years old and weight about 140 pounds, 5 foot tall. Will I see results after 6 weeks, if I worked hard and ate well? How many lbs can I expect to lose?

My husband & I quit smoking just over 3 months ago. After getting over the eating to fight a craving, we started slim in 6. That was 2 weeks ago. We are following the workout program -- tonight finished our 2nd week (week of Ramp it Up). We are eating the right foods, maintaining an intake of 1200 to 1500 calories a day. We aren't LOSING weight, but we are both noticing how we're toning and feeling more tone, fit & sexy. Just for that, we'll keep it going and hopefully continue with the better eating lifestyle! We'll touch base again in a couple of weeks to let you know how the program worked for us. We like to read this to know what others are experiencing too. Thanks for any support any of you could offer. Everyone, keep up the great work!

For Rebekah, and anyone else who saw a dramatic change, did you follow the nutrition guide as well? I am starting Si6 without the guide and without any supplements. Will I still get dramatic results?

To those of you discouraged that you completed the six weeks and have lost little or no weight please remember that muscle weighs more than fat. After doing these exercises you have been improving the muscle you had and possibly added more. Your choice to exercise shouldn't revolve around weight loss but building a healthier body, unless you are obese and must loose weight to avoid weight related health problems and injuries. The goal should be to get healthier not merely to see that difference when you step on a scale.

in a typical day, i have veges, and some rice and whole wheat flour rotis(flatbread). i have cereal or half a bagel with 1tbsp of low fat cream cheese or and egg. i snack in between with fruits or the same thing as lunch. i have chicken once or twice a week and red meat, maybe once a week. To substitute protein, i include beans/lentils in my veges.

when i work out, my heart rate really goes up and i sweat a lot.

and i have been keeping measurements. In all this time, i have lost only 2" on my waist... all my other measurements are the same.

Perhaps you could list a "typical" day of food you eat.
Also give us your height and in your next workout your pulse rate recorded every 5 minutes.
By any chance did you record you body measurements to see if you lost inches in certain areas?

It's winter time and I don't like to leave my house once I've gotten home from work. I still wanted to work out and I found the Slim in 6 DVD's that I bought a while back. I figured I would give them a try!
I did not buy their supplements but have my own. I did not follow their program to a T however, I am noticing great results!! I spent about a week each on Start it up and Ramp it up. I got to Burn it UP and Wow!! I have found that it is difficult for me to do the video 6 days a week. I try to do it 5 days and not to go more than 2 days with a rest. I always feel smaller and more toned the morning after I've excercised! It motivates me to keep working. I would recommend this series to anyone who wants to lose weight, tone up but not join an expensive gym. It's difficult while you're doing it but it is so worth it! I still have a few weeks to go but am really looking forward to this summer!! :)
12. Slim in 6 and Results

I used slim in 6 about 2 years ago and saw mega results when I used the program. After the first week I had people asking me what I was doing and I explained the program to them. It helped keep me motivated. I actually lost 20 pounds in the six weeks. Due to some health issues, I got off track, had two kids and am back to a very unhealthy weight. I definetly will be digging these dvds back out. If the basic DVD is too hard at first just do what you can while the DVD is playing until your body gets stronger.

I have used slim in six before and as a user i can tell you it does work...For gabrielle, you should have no problem with the video as long as you are committed to the exercise. It will be hard at first but after a few times the challenge will get to become something fun you can test your stamina with...nullGood luck:) :)

I did 1 round of Si6. I did what I could w/o over doing myself. If I felt too sore, I cut it back.
I started @ 180 & ended @ 165. Went from sz 16 to sz 12 pant & from an XL top to a Medium in 6 weeks. I didn't lose a TON of pounds but it has made a physical difference. People are regularly asking me what I am doing.

I get easily jumbled with fancy footwork video's. These took some work but I felt confident I could do it. They aren't high tech, they aren't fancy smancy but they work. They got me moving & have made a difference. I am starting round 2. I plan to increase my resistance bands and keep challenging myself to improve. I figure there is room to grow & still more DVD tracks to add to my regiment.
18. Love Slim in 6!

I am 5'4" and just finished the series. When I started I was 180 and now I am 155. I highly recommend the slim in 6 dvds!

I have been using it for a couple of weeks and just progressed to the 2nd DVD of the series. I started out a bit over 200 lbs at 5'7" and Im 42 and it kicks my butt but in a good way. I feel stronger and more fit already.

You will be fine as long as you are in good health. As always, if you have any concerns you should talk to your doctor. As with any workout you will have to take it at your own pace but set goals to get better with each weeks worth of workout. Don't try to look at improvement by the day, but by the week. Good luck and let us know how you do, OK?
