I\'m 18 and me and a buddy are doing p90x. We just recently finished day 30 and can see DRAMATIC results. I was a wrestler in high school and this is as close as i can get without hitting the mats again. |

Okay, so I am on week 3 almost week 4. Before starting I was 5\'8 161 lbs, 33\" waist. But now I\'m 157-158, somewhere around there, but a 32\" waist. I don\'t see a dramatic change in stats but I can see my abs muscle and my arm is a lot toner and bigger. Is it a bad thing that I\'m not losing more than I\'m expecting. I want to be back into a 30\" waist and about 150 lbs, but it doesn\'t seem like its reaching there. I been following the diet plan pretty close. Once in a while I\'ll have a craving for something, but not sure. Please let me know. Thanks. |

Personally, I think you should try P90x. Prior to this, I have tried tons of different workouts and a couple of trainers. Although I am not saying that a personal trainer is bad, I do think that P90x is the best workout I have ever done. The results are pretty fantastic. I have lost more weight and feel better than I have at any time with a trainer. I have lost fat and gained muscle. It works. |

I am overweight but I want to do p90x b/c I had been working out with a trainer when I watched the commercials and relized that my trainer was just doing the p90x moves on me and I was paying him a lot of money. Even though Im fat I can run about 30 min straight and I like to push myself in weight lifting. So do you think it would help me lose weight or should I stick w/ my trainer. |

First of all, P90X is not for the faint of heart. You have to have time, dedication, and the resolve not to quit. Once you have those three things in place, it\'s time to exercise. I\'ve worked out by myself for a few years now. Nothing religious, just a 20-minute run followed by 30 minutes of weight training. Same ole same ole. By the end of the first day on P90X, I realized this is something completely different. Each day concentrates on a different muscle group, but you\'re working out so feverishly that your heart rate should stay in the fat-burning range (buy a heart rate monitor). I was incredibly sore on day 4 (muscle soreness takes a couple days to peak), but after that, it got a little easier to manage. I\'ll let you know how it ends up at the end of the 90 days. I\'m 6\'3\", 220lbs currently. 38\" waist. |

How long do each of the workouts take? I\'m normally at work for about 12 hours a day and when I get home there\'s not much time for exercise dinner and time with the family. |

So, I missed 2 days of workouts last week, so technically, I just finished week 3 of the program. I am loving the results so far. I have lost 14 pounds and have tons of energy. I love this program! |

I want to get lean muscle, specifically in the abs... but i don\'t want bulky abs. Does the program have a program geared towards lean muscle and weight loss? |

I am on week 5 of P90X. I am 34 and I was slightly overweight but very fit on the cardio side before I started. I have never had substantial upper body muscle, but I have been generally fit my whole life. Before I started, I had been on a diet where I lost 10 pounds. I was running 1-2 times a week (interval runs) and I was on a sports field 3-4 days a week. Since I\'ve started, I\'ve only lost 4 pounds, but I\'ve lost 2 inches off my waist. Keep in mind that I am only on week 5. I have not followed the diet to a T, but I have been watching my calories and actually eating a lot more than before I started P90X. I am starting to get large shoulder muscles and my triceps are firming a little. My Back and Biceps are yet to take shape. In terms of injuries, I have a bad lower back on the right side. The only time it becomes a problem is when doing one of the ab exercises during the Yoga X. I try and use my ab muscles more to offset any back pain, but sometimes I have to pause the tape and let my back recover for 30 seconds. I had never done any other workout program before that I didn\'t devise myself. Overall, the workouts are very tough. I sweat through my clothes and drip like a faucet, but the results are speaking for themselves. As far as equipment, I have 3, 5, 10, and 14 lb. free weights along with a green band. The P90X pull-up bar\'s brackets broke so I have yet to put the bar back up (could be why I am not progressing as much on the back/biceps since I am doing bands instead of the real thing). I also have a yoga mat, foam covered push up bars and a plastic container from Target with a lid which I use as a yoga block. Good luck! |

I am on a goal to lose 100lbs this year. I was halfway there when my mother got cancer and I had to move it to take care of her. I saw the P90X infomercial with my brother one day and we were intrigued. I used to lift a lot of weights in school and then developed back and neck problems through degenerative disc disease. I am gaining some muscle back as I have been losing weight, but would really like to try this program. Can it work for someone with back and neck problems??? I have actually already ordered the system, but wanted to find someone I could ask. I appreciate any advice! Thanks, Tammy |

i havn\'t gotten the p90x system due to financial struggles. but i am very intrigued by it. I am a 22 year old mother of 3 children. the youngest is 10 months old. i have tried so many things to drop inches. my weight is back to normal, but i still have all the \"mommy marks\" and pooch and this looks like it would really help me out. I\'m losing hope and the best thing for me is having some confidence with myself and my fiancee and being able to look at myself in the mirror and be able to go through my day w/o being so down on myself. to follow some of my dreams... i definitely cant afford it now. i wish i could but hopefully sometime in the near future. would it work for all that?? being a mother and all? |

It looks intriguing but I\'m an old man who already spends much of his energy playing tennis two or three hours a day -- can\'t really see spending another whole hour on a workout (and I\'m not going to give up tennis for three months, that\'s for sure). If you\'re getting a lot of aerobic exercise is there an abbreviated workout for just the muscles? (I do need to strengthen them for my overall game) Or is that hour mostly stretching and muscle work? (If so, I\'ll just work on weights on my own). |

I\'ve been thinking about getting P90X and getting in great shape so I was reading through these reviews and questions. But as I read this page I\'m starting to wonder if the same person is possibly writing most of the comments under different names. The reason is because the same grammatical errors and errors concerning upper case vs. lower case keep occurring. I could be wrong but... |

Just some words of encouragement for anyone brave enough and committed enough to try P90X. I was 265lbs when I started this program. It was very difficult when I first started. The creatine drink helps with the muscle soreness. There were some exercises I could not do at all when I first started because of my size. The only thing I had going for me was that I used to be an athlete when I was in college and that background helped me to push through the pain / difficulty. I am currently in week 5 of the program and feeling great. My metabolism is really kicking in and the inches are melting away (or so it seems). I had pretty bad depression and anxiety and have to say that the exercising has lessened so that I\'m having almost no depression/anxiety issues. I\'m fitting into clothes that haven\'t fit me in years. I can\'t wait to see how I will look when I\'m done. I plan to continue this workout program(modified) until I lose the weight that I want to lose. I was so horribly out of shape when I started that I feel like almost anyone can do this given the right attitude and support system. My husband and I are doing this together; we push each other. If you are just starting it, stick to it; do as many of the exercises as you can and the ones you can\'t you WILL be able to do eventually. |

Thanks a lot Guy, you have been a great help, I do have a lot of questions just to be safe though. Currently I take No Xplode for before workout. I don\'t know what to take after workout. I don\'t want anything expensive and I cant have anything that has milk since I\'m allergic to milk. I can drink soy though. Please give me an item I can drink after work out and during the day when I\'m eating very little to follow the nutritional guide. Thank you once again Guy for all you feedback and help. I\'m planning on buying the Power Bar from Gaterade at Costco, buy one get one free box. Are they good for you? |

Peter, just go ahead and do as much as you can with Day 3. As you progress through the weeks, you\'ll begin to find yourself less sore. Honestly, if you keep going every day (6 days a week), it helps you become less sore. In later rounds, I\'ve skipped workouts and found myself actually more sore 2 days later. The yoga and kenpo are lower intensity (somewhat) which helps you stretch your muscles as opposed to lifting heavy weights. My suggestion would be for you to push through it and do every day even if you don\'t think you can make it. If you can only do certain exercises for a few reps or are spent after about 45 minutes, that\'s okay (and I would positively expect it with your very first week). Again, you simply push yourself to failure. Don\'t get caught up with the guys on the DVDs too much, as Tony says \"Just do your best.\" |

My arm is still sore from the chest and back, i did plyometrics yesterday and wow that was hard, but since my arms still hurt do i continue with the exercise for today which will be working my arms more? Second, me and my fiancee cant do the whole 60 mins routine, we try our best to push ourselves but we manage to about 45 mins of it. My arms was dead around there and for the plyometrics we were dead tired after 45 mins too. I hope in the future i can do all 60 mins. |

Jason, you can do the program if you are a vegan. Obviously, protein is important to muscle growth, so you will need to supplement and ensure you are getting enough protien (as well as fat and other nutrients), but you certainly don\'t need to eat meet to see the benefits of the program. I think Soy substitutes should work fine. As for what to do after 90 days, you certainly don\'t need to continue the program as-is afterwards. The P90X guide provides a \"scaled down\" version after 90 days where they encourage doing things like Plyo, Yoga and maybe shortened (30 min) versions of the workouts. I think your diet matters here. The better you eat, the less strict you can be with your workouts to maintain your results. You can eat a little more sloppily after 90 days, but you\'ll want to keep your workout intensity up to ensure your body burns those extra calories efficiently (I\'m sure Tony wouldn\'t suggest that you change your diet at all but most of us are human and happier if we can eat some \"bad\" stuff once in a while). I really think that after 90 days, a 30 min workout 5-6 days a week should be more than enough to ensure you maintain your gains. My wife and I just bought Chalean extreme which is supposed to be a little shorter. We start it in about 2 weeks and I hope it\'s a little more manageable than the P90X marathon sessions. I love P90X, but I agree that sometimes 60-90 minutes is a bit daunting... |

DL, You can do it in your hotel room if you have the bands. Some of the routines requires you to jump (Plyometrics) which is one day a week. That routine could cause a problem. However, just can just substitute that day with something else. Good luck! |

I travel a lot for my job - could i do this from my hotel room? I can have the DVD going on my computer, but I may lack some of the others. Look forward to your response. DL |

I just finish my first day of work out, chest and back and i am in so much pain well soreness and its because you push yourself so much and your body isn\'t use to it. It is very hard and you must have the motivation to push yourself. You must follow the nutritional guide too. To see great result. I love the work out. I hope I see a change after a week or two. |

I am around 60-80 pounds overweight and am in my first week of P90x. Even if you are overweight you can do this program and see results. I have lost over 5 pounds so far and am only on my 3rd workout. The nice part is, you only do what you can do and Tony stresses that. You work with the weight you choose and the reps you choose. This is not to say that you can take it easy and get results, you have to push yourself. You push YOUR fitness level, I like that it is stressed so much in the dvds. He tells you not to do more than you can but to push your fitness level. I can\'t wait to see what results I have after the first 90 days are up. It is great for me because I can do the workouts at home. I am doing more than I would at the gym because I am trying things I wouldn\'t try in public for fear of looking stupid. Even if you are overweight, try it! |

I am wondering whether the diet plan is flexible for those of us whom chosen a vegan way of life? That would be my only draw back to starting this program. Is it possible to supplement soy protein drinks instead of the conventional protein drinks? Thanks Jason |
