I\'m thinking about starting P90x and had a question about a few Saturday night beers.....How much would this setback progress made during the week....? Obviously with doing an intense workout routine everyday there would be no consumption on any other night....In my social and career environment social events with beer / wine are regular...Has anyone done the plan while still have occassional drinks on Saturday night (with Sunday being the off day)...? |

I can tell you first hand this program WORKS!!! I am currently as of today on Day 11. It was VERY hard the first few days as muscles I have not really used in a while were \"waking up\" I lost 13 pounds on the first week. This program handles everytthing for you. It comes with the worksheets(use them), it also had the Diet Plan (stick to it). I could not beleive the results after one week. If you take this serious and follow as instructed you WILL SEE RESULTS! I have a blog about my P90X journey that I started. I am keeping a daily video update along with a weekely Phooto/Progress update. Check it out if you want to see my results. silverdoesp90x.wordpress.com |

Honestly, I did the program halfway just like you. That means I didn\'t change my eating and I only used resistance bands instead of the pull-up/chin-up bar. I didn\'t see the get ripped results, but I was still happy with it because I felt stronger and did look leaner. The next time I do it, I will go all the way. |

For the peeps who are thinking about starting this workout, let me tell ya.. the x is there for a reason.. i tried to do this after 2 years of not lifting any weights.. and gaining 60lb.. i could not do it.. so I started with the 10 minute workouts by beachbody.. and I was able to start p90x a couple of weeks later.. to me its a good intro as long as you stay with it... I just finished phase 1 of p90x along with weight watchers.. and im 34lbs lighter...30lbs to go and 2 more phases.. and a second round after that!! |

Ive been doing P90x for four weeks and have seen great results. Ive lost ten pounds and went from 18% bodyfat to 13% already. I do P90x in the am and lift weights in the afternoon. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I should pair the workouts. As in which exercises should I do in the afternoon to not interfere with P90x in the morning for each day. |

P90x is definitely worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who is really SERIOUS about changing their bodytype. I\'m 41 y/o man, 5\'10 and was 215 when i started the program, now i weigh 190. I\'m more ripped now than I was at 20. |

I\'m a female in my 20\'s and after a few years of unhealthy habits I have decided to take action. I know this isn\'t for everyone, but this is working for me thus far, as I have 40lbs (it was 50) to lose and really am trying to change my lifestyle. I take a swig of apple cider vinegar when I wake up, and take a women\'s multi-vitamin and a B complex/vitamin C pill. I only drink water and unsweetened green tea. In the AM I eat 1 frozen waffle with no syrup and some Morningstar Farms breakfast patties. I snack on string cheese during the day and for lunch/dinner I eat some more Morningstar Farms sausage links or breakfast patties. I plan on throwing in some more fruit/veggies shortly. I do give myself a sensible free food day. I am on week 2 of P90X, I have good strength but my stamina and flexibility are lacking, but it\'ll come. In addition to that, I feel that these are useful tools: |

Im thinking about starting this programme but dont want to use a pull up bar (because it would wreck the door!) I already have dumbbells. Will this work with just the dumbbells or is it ESSENTIAL to have the pull up bar and resistance bands too?? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks :) |

I would definitely do a recovery drink, if you don\'t want to spend the money for one (p90x is very good) then I would do with chocolate milk. Read the recovery drink section on this website (under exercise menu) it has an article that discusses that chocolate milk is highly effective and this is backed up by cited clinical trials. but p90x recovery drink is very good too, so its a matter of choice. |

Is the P90X Recovery Drink a necessary element for post workout, and if so is there an alternative suppliment I can take or drink instead of P90X\'s recovery drink? |

Megan: phase I while is called the fat burning stage, I didn\'t see any fat really come off until the 6th week. Keep with it and you will notice after switching phases it will melt away. Catie: I STRONGLY think that you aren\'t doing these exercises with proper form. |

On the 2nd week of phase 2...wow! First of all, this is not a get fit with no work type of exercise. You need to be prepared to work your butt off and stick to it. It is a 6 day a week, 1 1/2 hour workout routine. You do a combination of weight / resistance training and cardio or yoga type. The workouts alternate so on day 1, you will do arms and shoulders, day 2 plyometrics (toughest one in my opinion) day 3 biceps, day 4 yoga, day 5 legs and day 6 kempo. After 4 weeks, you switch up and do a completely different set of exerices. The only thing that stays the same in phase 2 is the yoga, plyo and kempo workouts. Phase 3 basically combines workouts from phase 1 and 2. I am halfway into week 6, and currently I have lost 20 pounds! I am pretty consistant with losing about 1/2 pound per day (I started at 5\' 9\" and 230 pounds). I don\'t really follow the diet - however, I have been limiting my calories to 1700 / day which is recommended in the nutrition plan. I would have probably lost a lot more if I stuck to their diet...but it is pretty strict and my life style makes the diet difficult to follow. When I am done with the workout, I believe that I will have easily lost 30-35 pounds total. Also, I noticed gaines after only 2 weeks. Not to say I was ripped (nor am I necessarily ripped now), but my arms felt a lot more toned. After 6 weeks, I am really starting to see the muscle definition. Can\'t believe how fast it is working. Like I said, great workout but PLEASE DON\'T THINK YOU CAN JUST POP THE DVD IN YOUR MACHINE AND MAGICALLY GET STRONGER...YOU NEED TO WORK!!!! |

I have been doing Turbo Jam for the last 3 months, and noticed my body stopped showing significant changes and or weight-loss. I started researching more home-fitness programs and noticed that P90X was very popular, and promised some really good things. I purchased this program, hoping to add it to my already fitness routine with Turbo Jam, and the last 3 days have been torture compared to the other program I\'d been doing. I am sore in areas that I didn\'t know could be sore, since my body is already used to working out and what not. I am very happy with the signs of change that this new program has showed me in as little as 3 days of adding it to my Turbo Jam routine. These programs however, are only good if your planning on making it a lifestyle, dont work out and then stop because your not going to see a difference. |

You will only get the results out of P90X if you commit to it. You must pay close attention to your diet and you must give maximum effort on each workout with no missed days. If you don\'t, you are wasting your time and energy. I am a 37 year old male, 6\'2\", and started at about 215 lbs. I am now in Week 9 and have lost about 15 lbs. My strength and flexibility have both increased by a good amount. I love the workouts and I adhere strictly to my diet. I don\'t want to waste a workout by eating crappy foods. It was finally time to have the body I want to have. |

I disagree with those who say the Ab Ripper does not work...years ago I used the original Power 90 Ab Ripper and within weeks I had strong abs, lower back and trim waistline. I just recently ordered the new P90X and look forward to the new improved Ab Ripper workout...which is actually almost exactly like the old one. Best of Luck to everyone out there using p90x.null |

I STRONGLY suggest that no one does the ab ripper from p90x. This will not help you, and possible hurt you (as it did me). i started to develop low back issues, resulting in disc degeneration, only 3 weeks after starting this program. I had been fine prior (and had been very active prior to the program as well). This, and besides the fact that flexion based sit-ups/core work has scientific proof to not be an effective core workout.....look at the evidence...research this if you don\'t believe me......but this is why i suggest to not do ab ripper |

I have done the P90X program...well, I\'m about to finish it, and to be honest - I have not seen any changes. I bought the P90X because I wanted to become more toned. I am in pretty good shape (from doing the Get Ripped) workouts, but I wanted to lower my fat procentage. Though I have not done their diet, I was careful with what I ate. Has anyone gone through the same problems like me? |

Its only day 2 and I want to die. But in a good way haha. I played high school basketball we had intense conditioning practices and I was super excited to see plyometrics was in this, that\'s essential for sports, or at least our school\'s teams do it. Even if you\'re not in shape at the moment, you can start this and take it at your own pace, take longer breaks if you have to or watch the modifications that make the exercises easier for beginners. |

I love this program. It is very intense and you gain energy and recieve results quickly. You need to be highly motivated to do this program. The workout each day is very intense but you can feel the results imediatly when you finish them. I can\'t tell you enough that this is the best workout program that you could possibly do. I really like how there isn\'t very much equipment needed to do each excersise. |
