My boyfriend and I started P90X a couple weeks ago. We are both thin and in decent shape but wanted to tone up. His dad is 60 and also very healthy and active, and his mom in her early 50\'s. They have tried a couple of the workouts and have enjoyed them. The major difficulty would be trying not to get frustrated with yourself. Because even at 21 and 23, the workouts are pretty strenuous. I would recommend trying the \"Power 90\" workout from beachbody first. It is intended to be a prep program for P90X. I would say if you can do that for 90 days with no problems then it would be worth it to purchase P90X. There are several modifications if some things are difficult (such as the yoga position where you are balancing your entire weight on your elbows and hands). There are also some youtube videos of P90X so you can view some people doing the workout to see if you may be able to do the exercises without the preparation of Power90. I would youtube -- p90x chest and back, p90x legs and back, p90x plyometrics, and p90x yoga x. Those have been the most difficult thus far. Hope this helps. |

\"My husband had these and I recently found them... But it\'s missing like 7cds and the rest of the stuff. The ones I have are um... kempo, cardio, yoga, ab ripper, and plyometrics. Can I still try to use this, will I get any results. I did try the ab ripper last night... couldn\'t keep up. Anyway, I want to tone up... I weigh 113 lbs... use to weigh 100 lb before my twins. Don\'t expect to ever be that small gain, but I do hope to tone up. What do you think?\"
Of course you cannot try the DVD\'s you have however p90x is designed and built for muscle confusion. In order for this to work like intended it\'s very important to have the complete workout program and nutrition program. Get he complete kit you will be thankful you did. I know I am |

Bob p90x is a great work out i\'m on my 3rd week right now. You only need about an hour a day to do this. I work 12 hour shifts everyday but sunday and thursday. You have to want it and then you\'ll find the time. As far as being in the military and maybe not having access to tv to watch to video. right down the steps and just do it on your own. You do not need much room at all you could do it in the leaving room of your home. I suggest with your schedule and your work enviornment that you get the bands. This is all the equipment that you\'ll need everything they do in the videos you can do with the bands. Good luck and just remember to be the best and forget the rest BRING IT. |

Hi, I was thinking about starting the P90X but I work every other week. It would be hard for me to do the weekly excersises but I really want to get back into the same shape I was in in the army. Wouold it still be wise for me to start this program? And if so, how much space do you need? I might be able to take it offshore with me. |

HI, I am a 5\'09\" guy, weighting 150 pounds. I do not need to lose any more weight, but I would like to build some muscle on my arms, chest and stomack or tone what ever is more possible in 90 days. do you think the program would help or for my size it is not worth it? Thanks
Ban,
p90x can be used to loose fat / weight or gain weight / muscle it just depends on how you use the program. Tony H. will teach you how to add mass when doing p90x. Basically you will do lower reps with higher weights. You will also want to increase your protein intake.
Let me know if you need any other help.

Hey Denis,
You just repeat whatever you did for that week again. Just started my P90X yesterday and from my understanding, week 1-3 are repeated before you go to Week 4. And then, a new set for 5-7 and so on. :)

Dennis is spot on!
Also keep in mind the p90x nutrition guide is just a guide, when talking about the specific foods they recommend that you eat. You can eat other foods not in the book just make sure you stick to the correct portion amount that the book gives you and the correct caloric intake. You can use Fitday.com or the daily plate.com to track your caloric intake if you are needing more detailed information.

Just finished up my 5th day. This work out is great. I know alot of you have questions about the diet program. Myself I am a very picky eater its hard for me to follow the diet. I find myself trying to eat the right foods but i count my calories and fat that i bring in each day. Within the last week by cutting out soda and counting my callories I\'ve lost 6 pounds already. Keep up the good work everyone if there are any questions make a post on here and somebody will get back to you. |

Sarah,
Yes it is very possible, however it will be important to monitor your calorie intake and protein intake to make sure you are getting enough. Do you use Soy protein powder? This can help boost your protein intake to the level you will need.
Beachbody has a vegetarian, diet plan that you cn tweak a bit to make it vegan.
Also you can use fitday.com or the daily plate.com to monitor your nutrition very closely.
You should go for it!

So yesterday was my first day of P90x. This program is great. Like everyone else i started out with the chest and back work outs. I decided to start my new diet and work out about a week ago. Thats when i committed myself to this program. I ordered my P90x and got it yesterday. I recommend to everyone that loves soda to cut it out of your diet. Just in the last week without doing p90x i lost 4 pounds from just no drinking soda. If your like me and hate drinking water, i found that the powerade zero is great tasting and has no cal, fats, or sugar. I\'m 225 5\'11 and 25 year old male. The work outs are hard but stick with it. Youtube peoples results for me that was enough motivation right there. Just remember at the end of the BRING IT. |

I am thinking of starting the P90X program and have heard that the diet part of the plan is very important. I am a vegan though so I don\'t eat any animal products including dairy. I think I eat very healthy though, lots of veggies, fruits and proteins. Is it possible for me to do this program, keep with my vegan diet and still get results? |

Do not worry about your numbers, when I started p90x I was also around 230lbs and could not do a single pull up. Start the program just take your time and pace yourself. Follow Tony H. and listen to his advice. Do not feel like you have to keep up with him.
He will teach you how to do assisted pull ups using resistance bands, and then show you how to transition to using a chair. Before you know if you will be doing pull ups. I started at 0 pull ups day 90 I was at 15 pull ups and day 180 around 30.
Stay focused stay motivated and keep pushing play.
Like Tony H. says \"Do your best, and forget the rest.\"
But look out p90x is a life changer.
Dcar,
I assume you are a lady? If not sorry for the wrong guess ;)
It is next to impossible to loose weight and only loose fat. You are going to loose some form of muscle also, it\'s just the way of the beast.
I see that also you have just started p90x, do not get to hung up about all the numbers when it comes to nutrition. Follow the plan the p90x sets for you based on your body information that the book asks.
Follow this plan for at least 60days before you try and alter the plan in any way. A lot of the people that I coach that are doing p90x often read to much into the nutrition and make it a lot harder than it needs to be. Stick the portion control amounts that they have listed for you in the plan that you fall into.
You body is going to need every calorie that you take in for fuel. If you lack on your nutrition and shoot to low you can easily over train with p90x. Follow the guide and stick with it. Let me know if you need any more detailed help.
