Stacy,
I have never had a baby, and don\'t ever plan on it :), but I can tell you that if you follow this program the way that it is intended, you will get results. Follow the nutrition guide and do the workouts. I is pure and simple all based on how hard you want to work. The dvd\'s are workouts that are intended to get you in shape, tone your body..etc.. If you are serious about what you want to do. P90X is for you. If you don\'t want to dedicate yourself, don\'t waste your money. |

Adam,
You can probably find the nutrition plan on ebay. I would check there first. As far as the p90x plus is concerned...what dvd\'s does it include? I am not very familiar with the plus version. I did and am still currently doing the original p90x. I have alwasy been athletic and the program (if done properly) is very physically demanding. I don\'t know if p90x plus is more intense, but if it is...I would expect a very hard workout, and you may not be ready for it. |

I received p90x plus this christmas. I\'m 20 years old and im very athletic. I have lifted weights on and off for the past several years. Is it necessary to buy the orignial p90x since the plus is only meant to be supplementary to the original? I also wanted the nutrition plan that comes with the original, is there any way to purchase it separately? If anyone has any comments or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated thanks. |

Amy-Muscle does weigh more than fat, but if I were you I\'d take a day or 2 to really track what you are eating, because it\'s often the little things that add up, especially for someone who follows a eating plan already. A couple Hershey kisses and an extra slice of cheese in a day can put you a couple hundred calories up, so you have to be really careful. The reason I\'m saying this, is because while muscle does weigh more than fat, it\'s ALOT of work to put on muscle weight. One way that\'s better telling of your progress is your measurements, which I know you said you didn\'t do because your husband wouldn\'t help, but those you can do on your own. How are you clothes fitting compared to 13 weeks ago? You should be noticing differences in that area if you are losing fat but gaining muscle, because muscle takes up far less space than fat does. It would take an incredible amount of work and specific effort for most women to gain 10 pounds of muscle in a year. It\'s possible, but the amount of weight lifting in P90x is not adequate enough for someone to gain 5 pounds of pure muscle in just 3 months. Gaining muscle mass to the effect that it causes you to gain weight, requires you to do alot of weight training with heavy weights. It\'s possible you\'re an exception to that, but I\'d do a couple days of hard tracking on your diet before you assume it\'s muscle gain. You don\'t want to do the full 90 days only to find out you gained 10 pounds from something else. |

Tad - I did the standard program. I completed week thirteen on Saturday :) Yeah it is a great feeling. I am going to go back to running and weights again for a couple months and then maybe start the lean program just to keep changing it up. So you think it was the foods - maybe not getting enough or too much food that was the cause of the gain? |

I have used the program for the full 90 days and use it 4 days a week now for the past year. I am 27 and in alot better shape then when i played football in high school. This program is cheap and effective, you just need to stick with it. |

Amy, fat weighs much less than muscle. How I know this, I used to be super athletic. I had a specific body weight for 15 years of excersize and weight training. Once I quit all this excersize, over 5-6 years I gained 5 inches in my waste size, bsically started getting fat in my stomach, but my weight didnt change. I lost muscle, but got bigger and weighed the same. For your size concerns, are you using the LEAN plan, or are you following the standard or extreme. I looked at the diet for the normal plan, and it is a lot of food that will cause a gain. Recheck this and maybe tone down the intake. |

Derrick, Your post was very helpful. When I started I was 5\'8\" weighing 127 and now I am starting week 13 and am up to 132 :( I have a hard time with the scale going up, but was in the gym six days/week before starting. I didn\'t follow the diet plan as I have a very strict diet to begin with. When I started my husband was going to do it with me and he didn\'t want to take the pics or measurements (I know very wrong), but he isn\'t one to do things like this so I didn\'t want to push him away. Thing is he quit in the second week. I kept up with the workouts and am wondering if you think the weight gain is muscle?? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much - Merry Christmas!!! |

P90X is not about losing weight. The problem with many people is that when they think \"working out\" they think \"cutting calories\" This could not be more wrong. If your intention is to just lose a lot of weight quickly then go ahead and starve yourself. You will lose the weight and eventually gain in back. The best way to get in shape is to replace body fat with lean muscle mass. The P90X program is not only for someone looking to lose weight, (although it will happen if you have weight to lose) it is for someone looking to get in great shape. The fat will lose fat and gain muscle. The skinny will most likely gain weight. I started the program at 6\'3 and 241lbs. Probably the worst shape of my life. I have lost bodyfat, gained lean muscle and feel more fit today than I have since I was 18. I am down to 215lbs and feel great. I followed the program to a \"T\". The diet is demanding, but you will get used to it and to the routine. Just so you know, I am required to eat 3000 calories a day. (far from starving myself) Rather than stopping at a wendy\'s and grabbing a baconator because I am hungry, I now look at eating as fuel for my body. I like to think of it as Ultra Premium Fuel...not the low grade garbage. If you are truly looking to get in shape, P90X is for you. It is hard, but worth the work! If you have any questions you can email me. |

My wife is interested in toning her stomach and I think this is likely an ideal program. I\'m watching the infomercial and am wondering how often you work out while on the program...3 days per week...7 days per week? |

Hi,
Thanks guys for the forum and a way to get some details.
I am 5\'11\'\' and so thinny weighing around 160 pounds. 99% of the reviews and discussion about this P90X, i see people always asking about weight loss, i am just worried whether this program suits only for ppl who has fat to be burnt and get muscle. Does this program help thin ppl as well to grow muscles. I dont see any videos which shows real good muscle development for really thin people in the P90X website. Any body has anything to say about this? |

After 2 1/2 years of no results with the Army\'s daily PT, I decided to give P90X a try, and I\'m hooked! I\'m only on day 8, but I already have so much more energy, more confidence, and I\'m noticing some definition in my shoulders. The Army\'s concept is to work one muscle or group until you\'re dead tired, but P90X constantly switches it up, so you never burn one muscle group out. And the workouts are FUN! I look forward to my workout every day. Never thought I would say that.
To anyone debating it, stop thinking and just do it. You\'ll be glad you did. And make sure you have some kind of recovery drink. Not necessarily the P90X brand, but something. I use glutamine powder, and it works wonders for me.
Right now I\'m doing the Lean, and next is the Classic, then Double. After that...Beachbody Insanity, then P90X+. Wish me luck!
Any questions, I can be reached at bassist1217@yahoo.com. |

I want to read the comments of people who are FAT who have gotten results from this program. All I\'m seeing are skinny minnies who just want to \"tone up a little\". Comeon where are the fatties who dropped like 50-100lbs. from doing p90x? Ah to hell with it, I\'ll try it out myself; I have about 60lbs. to lose! |

Diet is great...Haven\'t been taking pics as my husband wouldn\'t help with that, says that I am fine the way I am. I was really underweight when I started and now feel like everyone else trying to loose weight. Thanks for the motivation. I did do Legs and Back yesterday and plan on doing my Kenpo after this. You think if I add some running back into my workouts it would help? Sad thing is the past week I have been getting up early and walking 20 minutes - not helping. |

Amy, what is most likely happening is that you\'re putting on muscle, but your body is also holding on to the fat. How is your diet? You have to put in as much effort into the nutrition side of this as you do the workouts. if you dont eat right, you\'ll just sabotage your results.
also, have you been taking pictures? measurements? the scale is not the best measure of your progress for P90X. as i mentioned, you\'re putting on muscle, which is more dense than fat. if you\'ve been taking progress pix, have someone else look at them, you\'re usually your own worst critic! you\'re in week 10. its too late to quit now, you\'re so close! |

I am on week 10 of the program and since I have started I haven\'t lost any weight just gained :( I have gained seven pounds since starting. Before I started P90X I was at the gym everyday for about an hour. Usually running for 30 minutes and doing some weights. My clothes all still fit but I am filling them out more. I am getting very frustrated and wanting to quit. |

Hi, Im a 240 lb, 6\'03\", 50 year old man. I try to play racquetball once a week and get to the gym to do some arobics on a elyptical machine and follow that with some resitence training, alteranting days with upper and lower body strength exercises on Nautilus machines... I have seen the informercials, and do look very convincing... although I can appreciate that the exercises do look to be challenging... My question is around reality for me... are there any 50 year old and older people success stories, that I can draw a realistic view of what can be done... specifically, given that exercises are very challenging, I would like to know more about how hard it was for these folks, and know how they dealt with joint, and other pain that naturally comes from, well... being 50... :-) thanx... |
