Denise Austin's Get Fit Daily Dozen DVD Review

Introduction

Denise Austin is an exercise guru that really appeals to people that are on the run and don’t have that much time each day to devote to staying fit.  She is someone that is known for coming up with innovative ways to get a lot done quickly with fitness and her Get Fit Daily Dozen series is just another example of this particular trend.

One minute per move

If you want an ultra-fast way to do things, you’ll love the fact that each move in this workout will take no longer than a minute.  The daily dozen comes from the fact that in each workout you can choose from 12 different moves.  If you do the math, this means that each workout will take you no longer than 12 minutes a day.  This is not a bad return on investment for people that are on the run and don’t have a ton of time for working out and staying in shape.

Choose your workout

Because each workout only takes 12 minutes, there is sufficient time on the DVD for Austin to include a number of different workouts that you could potentially choose from.  These workouts include things like a 12-minute session with 12 different Yoga exercises or a 12-minute session with 12 different cardio exercises.  No matter what your pleasure, you’ll be able to find what you need within one of the six different daily dozen workouts available.  You can do one a day, rotate through them in pairs or even do all of them each day for a workout lasting 72 minutes.  The choice is completely yours when it comes to this DVD.

The law of diminishing returns

This DVD was put out on the market by Denise Austin based on a very simple principle in exercise.  That principle is the law of diminishing returns.  The body has a general equilibrium fitness level that is general good health and then every step away from it (in either the unhealthy or healthy directions) takes progressively more to get to.  Most of us don’t need completely rock-hard bodies, but we would like to be in decent physical shape.

Austin knows this and that is why this workout was released.  A time commitment of 12 minutes a day won’t get you a bodybuilder’s physique, but it will give you progressively better energy levels and a physical fitness level that will allow you to get everything you want out of a long and healthy life.

Final Thoughts

If you are someone that is a hardcore fanatic about exercising and you want something that can really help you take your workout to the next level, this isn’t for you.  If however you’re a busy working mom that just wants to stay in decent physical shape to enjoy life with your family, this could definitely be what the doctor ordered.  It’s certainly worth a closer look if you want to remain fit with just a minute per exercise per day.
