Introduction to Fastin

Fastin is undoubtedly a popular name brand in today’s online fat burner marketplace and indeed that is the main reason as to why Fastin makes the list of top ten where most people are concerned.  It is a popular product without being an additionally effective product and for that reason it is one of the best learning experiences for you the reader to have.  Understanding what can make a product popular aside from its effectiveness may seem like a purely intellectual exercise, but if you understand this lesson from Fastin, you will be better equipped to handle similar products when they are trying their sales pitch on you.

Fastin Ingredients

Depending on where you go online, you might be led to believe two different things about Fastin.  The first is that the main ingredient in the supplement is phentermine while the second is that the main ingredient is phenylethylamine.  If you are wondering which of these two descriptions the correct one is, the somewhat confusing answer is that they both are right.

The reason that they both are right has to do with the overall history of the Fastin product.  When it was originally manufactured, it was a product that utilized phentermine, an ingredient that at the time showed a lot of promise in the field of weight loss.  As it turned out, that promise was justified in the sense that phentermine was quite effective when it came to fat burning activities.  The only problem was that the effectiveness of phentermine ended up coming at a grave cost, because many of the side effects associated with the ingredient were intense enough that they interfered with a person’s ability to live their life and as a result of that were considered debilitating.  With products containing phentermine forced off the market as a result of that discovery, the creators of Fastin tried to think of a way to preserve their heavily marketed and very popular supplement name and the end result was to recreate Fastin, this time with phenylethylamine as the main ingredient.

Since phenylethylamine is the new main ingredient in Fastin, it makes sense to focus the analysis of Fastin ingredients on that particular substance.  Chances are very good that you have ingested phenylethylamine before, even if you have never heard that particular name before now.  This is because phenylethylamine is one of the main ingredients in chocolate and it is the ingredient that is responsible for giving people the “emotional high” that they tend to get from it.  Along with caffeine, phenylethylamine forms the main ingredient in Fastin and indeed this is true to the extent that the major properties of Fastin are the major properties of phenylethylamine.

Fastin and the Emotional High

Since the main ingredient in Fastin is phenylethylamine, the emotional high that Fastin provides is going to be the most compelling feature about this particular product.  Unfortunately for the creators of Fastin, an emotional high by itself does not do that much to help with fat burning .  An emotional high can make a person eager to exercise properly and diet well, but unless that emotional high is combined with some sort of energy boost or actual fat burning ingredient injection, it really is not going to accomplish much in the grand scheme of things.  It also illustrates the significant inferiority of phenylethylamine to phentermine as far as weight loss is concerned.  The old Fastin may have made people feel sick to their stomach, but at least it did the work of fat burning well.  This current incarnation of Fastin has secondary energy and emotional boosts from phenylethylamine and caffeine at best and that is most certainly a step down in terms of fat burning prowess even if it is a step up in terms of fewer side effects.

Furthermore, it is widely acknowledged by the scientific community that ingredients usually need to be present in minimum amounts in order to have their desired effects.  This is true for ingredients like green tea, which need to be taken in the appropriate amounts in order to be effective according to the studies that have been done on that particular topic.  The phenylethylamine amount present in Fastin is not enough to unlock its best effects and the caffeine amount falls well short of the desired goal.  Therefore, in addition to not having any direct fat burning prowess, Fastin does not even seem to have the ability to deliver on the secondary areas of fat burning that it is targeting with the current blend.

Understanding the popularity of Fastin

With the overall reduced effectiveness of Fastin that has been shown over the course of the previous sections, one question might spring to mind and that question has to do with how Fastin continues to remain popular in spite of its reduced effectiveness after the shift from phentermine to phenylethylamine.  After all, it was popular enough to make the top ten list of fat burners , so why is that?  The answer has to do with marketing and the aggressive tactics employed by the Fastin parent company King Pharmaceuticals.

The way in which King Pharmaceuticals markets the Fastin product, many people believe that what they are purchasing is the phentermine version of Fastin.  They believe that they are getting a product that has shown time and time again how effective it can be as a fat burner and the way the information is listed on the website put up by King for their Fastin product, absolutely nothing is done in order to actively discourage the reader from getting this view.  For that reason, Fastin continues to be reviewed and discussed in many places of the online community as a phentermine drug when it is in fact a phenylethylamine product now and has been for quite some time.

Even in this day and age of increased access to information, many people think Fastin is phentermine and are willing to take a chance on the side effects of the product in return for its effective benefits.  Don’t be fooled though, as phentermine is now a highly restricted substance.

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals recently launched a reformulated Fastin as an O.T.C. diet aid. Hi-Tech acquired the rights to Fastin from King Pharmaceuticals. King Pharmaceuticals manufactured the brand name product Fastin (phentermine HCL) for Smith Kline Beecham. In December 1998, Smith Kline Beecham withdrew Fastin from the market.
